The unemployed are still on the rise in Spain: to date there are 4,83 million requests for employment, according to what was announced by the Madrid Ministry of Employment itself. The number grew further in October, with 128.242 more unemployed (+2,73%) than in September, while on an annual basis the percentage rose by 10,84% (almost half a million more unemployed).
Currently, therefore, in the fourth largest economy in the Eurozone there are almost 5 million unemployed citizens, 4.833.521 to be precise according to what is calculated by INE, the Iberian National Institute of Statistics. According to Ine, the unemployment rate exceeded the 25% threshold in the third quarter, settling at 25,02% (52% in the 16-24 age group): the figure is the worst after that of Greece, in the entire industrialized world.
