South Stream: agreement signed, Eni at 20%. Enter Edf and Wintershall

The division of the shares of the company that will build the South Stream gas pipeline has been defined once and for all: the Russian gas giant Gazprom maintains 50%, while Eni drops to 20%, allowing the entry of the French Edf and the German Wintershall (BASF group), each with 15%.
South Strem will allow Russian gas to be brought to Western Europe via the Black Sea, without passing through transit countries such as Ukraine. The goal is to transport 63 billion cubic meters from 2015.
The agreement was signed today in Sochi by the top management of the companies involved, in the presence of Russian premier Vladimir Putin.
The Russian company and Eni have also signed an agreement to reconfirm the agreements signed on February 16th. Thus the foundations are laid for the sale to Gazprom by Eni of half of its stake (33,3%) in the consortium that develops the Elephant field, located about 800 km from Tripoli.
Finally, Gazprom and Severenergia, 51% controlled by Yamal Development, 30% by Eni and 19% by Enel, signed a contract with which Gazprom undertakes to purchase the gas produced by Severenergia.
Around 13 pm Eni's share gained 1,24%.
