A real success for the auction yesterday, November 7, held by Sotheby's New York, over 400 lots for a total of 40 million dollars.

A day entirely dedicated to modern art and impressionism kept many international collectors in suspense who came to New York for “Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale” as well as all those who preferred the “bid” contact directly on the telephone with the operators in the room.

A roundup of beautiful works followed one after the other attracting a lively interest in the award which, however, never exceeded the estimate and concluding the day exactly with a total of dollars 39.910.775.

The first top lot was the opera Deux Nus aux balloons di Kees Van Dongen (estimate $1.200.000-1.800.000) sold for $1.314.500; they follow: Tete d'homme di Pablo Picasso (estimate 700-900 thousand USD) sold for $1.142.500;  The table in the garden of Fernand Léger (estimate $800.000-1.200.000) sold for $902.500; Tete d'homme barbu di Pablo Picasso (estimate 500-700 thousand USD) sold for $842.500; L'Orpheline Alsacienne, version à la Teté droite di August Rodin (estimate 500-700 thousand USD) awarded to dollars 812,500; La Noblesse du temps, lost stage de la Mémorie, also conn as… Of Salvator Dali (estimate 400-600 thousand USD) sold for $752.500; B.ust di Alberto Giacometti (estimate $1.000.000-1.500.000) sold for $734.500; Sunset, the route de versailles in chavilles di Alfred Sisley (estimate 400-600 thousand USD) awarded to dollars 692.500; The appointment di Rene Magritte (estimate 600.800 thousand USD) awarded to dollars 662.500; Hector and Andromache di Giorgio de Chirico (estimate 600-800 thousand USD) awarded to dollars 662.500; Personnage demountable Pierrot di Jacques Lipchitz (estimate 500-700 thousand USD) sold for $632.500; sculpture Working model for thin reclining figures di Henry Moore (estimate 500-700 thousand USD) sold for $602.500; Les Amoureaux au dessus de Paris di Marc Chagall (estimate 500-700 thousand USD) awarded for 602.500 dollars; Femme et oiseau devant la lune di Joan Mirò (estimate 500-700 thousand USD) awarded to dollars 590.500; sculpture Baigneuse III di Jacques Lipchitz (estimate 500-700 thousand USD) awarded to dollars 578.500; The bouquet of dahlias di Kees Van Dongen (estimate 500-700 thousand USD) sold for $566.500.
