Sustainability: Poste Italiane makes its debut in the Dow Jones World and Europe indexes

Poste Italiane increasingly sustainable. The company has entered the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index and the Europe Dow Jones Sustainability Index which include companies deemed best in managing their business on the basis of economic, social and environmental responsibility criteria.

“This recognition – observed the CEO Matteo Del Fante – rewards the effort that Poste Italiane has made in the last two years to implement a structured sustainability strategy that is fully consistent with the business objectives: values such as integrity and transparency, attention to people, respect for the environment, support for local areas and responsible management of financial assets are not only a fundamental prerequisite for doing business in an ethically correct manner, contributing to the well-being and sustainable growth of the community, but they also indicate the best way to ensure success in the medium and long term”.

“Inclusion in the prestigious Dow Jones sustainability rankings – added Giuseppe Lasco, Deputy General Manager and Head of Corporate Affairs of Poste Italiane – is the result of a long and demanding team effort. A path that started with the definition of the ESG Strategic Plan, continued with the adherence to the Principles for Sustainable Insurance and Principles for Responsible Investment of the United Nations, and with the adoption of a new Code of Ethics and an Anti-Corruption Management System which, for the first time in Italy in the finance and communications sector, has obtained ISO 37001 certification. Inclusion in the DJSI constitutes an incentive to continue along this path for an increasingly extensive and concrete affirmation of ESG principles in corporate activities”.
