Sustainability: Enel and Leonardo at the top of the Dow Jones Index

In the world index of sustainability Enel confirmed for the sixteenth time. Leonardo leader for aerospace, confirmed for Saipem, Hera and Tim while Moncler enters for the first time

Sustainability: Enel and Leonardo at the top of the Dow Jones Index

Enel, Leonardo, Saipem, Tim, Hera and a new entry: Moncler. Sustainability is increasingly a value for Italian and multinational groups. And the opportunity to take stock is, every year, the publication of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index.

Enel is a veteran and has been confirmed for the sixteenth consecutive year in the DJSI World, the world index managed by the US company. The presence of Endesa, the Spanish subsidiary of the Enel Group, was also confirmed in the index for the nineteenth consecutive time. Enel and Endesa are two of the eight companies in the electric utility sector admitted to the index globally.

The South American subsidiary of the Group, Enel Américas, is instead confirmed for the second consecutive year in the Dow Jones Sustainability Emerging Markets and Dow Jones Sustainability MILA1 Pacific Alliance indices, as well as in the Dow Jones Sustainability Chile for the third year, while Enel Chile, the Chilean group, returns to the three indices for the second time. Enel Américas and Enel Chile are the only two Chilean electricity companies to be confirmed in all three indices.

"Sustainability is a key factor in the creation of long-term value for our shareholders and all our stakeholders," is the comment of Francesco Starace, CEO of Enel who characterized his mandate with the green turn and the attention to the UN objectives so much that ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) investors represent 10,5% of the Group's capital, with an increase of 78% compared to 2014.

Leonardo also enters the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI), confirming its presence for the tenth consecutive year. The DJSIs are among the most prestigious sustainability indices and include the stocks of companies with the best performances worldwide in terms of economic, social and environmental sustainability - explains the group's note - which conquers the position of a leader in the Aerospace & Defense reaching first place among the 5 companies in the sector admitted to the DJSI. A position that "makes us proud and spurs us to accelerate further in this direction", comments Alessandro Profumo, CEO of Leonardo.

Sixteenth consecutive year of permanence in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index Europe also for Tim. "This is an important acknowledgment that confirms the Group's commitment to integrating sustainability into the corporate strategy", comments the company.

Progress also for Ivy, third company in Italy and 14th in the world. In 2018, the company was 22nd.

Finally, Saipem and Moncler. Saipem continues, for the third consecutive year, to be part of the World and Europe equity indices of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexas a leader in the Energy Equipment Services industry. Moncler instead yes ranks first as Industry Leader in the “Textiles, Apparel & Luxury Goods” sector, joining the DJSI World and Europe indices for the first time.
