There will be no Italian derby in the semi-finals of Europa League. Nyon's urn avoided the clash between Napoli and Fiorentina who, thus, will be able to dream of an all-Italian final, a remake of last year's final act in the Italian Cup. Napoli has caught the surprise of this edition of the Europa League: the Ukrainians of Dnipro. For Fiorentina, however, there will be the reigning champions of the Europa League of Sevilla.
The semi-finals are played on 7 and 14 May respectively. Napoli will play the first leg at home at the San Paolo stadium and the second leg in Ukraine on May 14th. Reverse situation for Fiorentina who will play the first leg at the Sanchez Pizjuan stadium in Seville while they will play the return leg at the Artemio Franchi stadium in Florence.
Recall that this year the winning team of the Europa League will secure a place for next year's Champions League. At this point in the season, none of the four teams currently in the semi-finals of the Europa League are guaranteed to qualify for the Champions League through placement in their respective national leagues. It will therefore be an absolute tussle to win the Europa League cup.
