Surprise from Sweden: the Central Bank cuts rates again

Surprise by Central Bank of Sweden, which today decided to further cut the main reference rate from -0,10% to -0,25%. The institute also increased the volume of its quantitative easing program through the purchase of government bonds, from 10 billion to 30 billion kroner (about 3,2 billion euros). 

“There are signs that inflation has already passed the low of the cycle – writes the Central Bank -, but the most recent appreciation of the crown could jeopardize this trend”. Furthermore, the institution said it was ready to take other measures in the short term.
