BlackBerry surprise: “Classic” arrives, operating profit returns

After a long crisis comes the backlash of BlackBerry, which ended the fiscal third quarter reducing net losses and posting operating profits, albeit limited. The Canadian company achieved positive cash flow earlier than expected, but revenue fell about 34% to $793 million, less than $932 million expected by analysts.

In detail, net losses fell to 148 million dollars (equal to -28 cents per share), much less than the red of 4,4 billion (-8,37 dollars per share) in the same period last year.

Excluding exceptional items, the company posted earnings of 5 cent a share, better than the 3,1 cent losses expected by analysts. Available cash was unchanged from the prior quarter at $XNUMX billion.

Also supporting BlackBerry is the latest smartphone, the Classic, which reintroduces some of the traditional features of the phone, such as the non-touch keyboard.
