The reverse merger operation for the incorporation of Zaffiro SpA into Sorgenia SpA has been completed The Zaffiro corporate vehicle, set up for the acquisition by F2i Sgr and Asterion, was therefore incorporated into Sorgenia on Thursday 10 June, opening a new industrial chapter for the digital energy company. The new shareholder structure sees the infrastructure fund F2i at 72,4% and Asterion Industrial Partners at 27,6%. With Sapphire's fusion and extinction, Sorgenia acquires 7 wind farms (for about 300 MW of installed capacity) and the company San Marco Bioenergie, the main Italian operator in the production of electricity from plant biomass with about 70 MW installed.

The company thus arrives at a total of over 4,7 GW of installed power. The integration allows Sorgenia to become a player of significant industrial dimensions also in the production from renewable sources. “The reverse merger completed today – commented Sorgenia's managing director, Gianfilippo Mancini – concludes a process that began last October and strengthens Sorgenia's position in the Italian energy system. We are now ready to implement an important investment plan in renewable technologies and to play a leadership role in the energy transition of our country”.
