Social Media Week 2012: the world digital and technology week kicks off today in Turin

The event dedicated to digital media, creativity and technological startups arrives in Italy in the Piedmontese capital, in web-conference with nine other cities in the world, and will end on Friday 28 - The meetings, over 95 (the complete calendar on the website www .socialmediaweek.org), are streamed by Telecom.

Social Media Week 2012: the world digital and technology week kicks off today in Turin

The Social Media Week, the week dedicated to digital and technology: representing Italy is Turin, the venue from today until Friday 28 of the event, in connection with the pulsating centers of the world avant-garde, from Chicago to Los Angeles, Shanghai, Seoul, Vancouver, Berlin, London, Jeddah and Hong Kong Kong.

"It is a great honor for us to be ambassadors of the most innovative Italy, the one that thinks about the future, in such an important international context", they say the organizers Vittorio Bo of Codice and Vittorio Perri of Dunter. For five days, therefore, Turin will become one of the focal points of the network of connections built by Crowdcentric, the group of New York creatives at the center of all the events, streamed by Telecom.

As in all respectable cultural marathons, this one too will be distributed in several places: Museum of Natural Sciences, Order of Architects, Torino Incontra, Jazz Club and Blah Blah. There are over 95 events, but you can register on www.socialmediaweek.org/Turin. 

The theme of the first day today is #PARTICIPATE: society, public goods and new methods of participation: therefore dedicated to the new participation and relationship policies based on digital media and to the relationship between the Public Administration and citizens, which will be investigated through collaborative experiences based on concrete aspects, regulations, visions and planning: from privacy to open data. Tuesday we talk about Tech, ideas, innovation / #INNOVATE: the frontiers of innovation. Space therefore for laboratories, incubators, startups, and the "culture of doing".

Wednesday we will go from words to deeds: A real new economy / #TO PRODUCE: do business with social media (industry, market, professions, ADV), while Thursday will be the turn of culture (Culture, media, creativity / #CREATE: cultural production, its places, education), and Friday will close with the theme of digital tourism (#TRAVEL: tourism, promotion and enhancement of local emergencies).
