Snam, profit +21,4% in the second quarter

Based on the information available, the company forecasts that the demand for gas on the Italian market at the end of 2014 will be down compared to 2013 levels, mainly due to the decline in demand in the thermoelectric sector.

Snam closed the second quarter with a net profit of 561 million euros, up 21,4% on the corresponding period last year. Revenues grew by 0,4% to 1,78 billion, Ebit stood at 1,04 billion (+2,4%). Based on the information available, the company forecasts that the demand for gas on the Italian market at the end of 2014 will be down compared to 2013 levels, mainly due to the decline in demand in the thermoelectric sector.
