Fluxys e Snam are studying the creation of a joint company. The companies themselves give the news. The two companies, mainly active in gas transmission, have agreed to evaluate together the creation of a jointly controlled company for the integrated management of their respective international assets held in Europe, in particular in the South-North and East-West energy corridors, for exclusion of the companies' respective national markets (Belgium and Italy).
The objective of this eventual union would be to play a key role as a facilitator of greater flexibility and liquidity of the market.
“By joining forces at an international level – commented the CEO of Snam, Carlo Malacarne -, Snam and Fluxys would become a key player in Europe, interconnecting the markets as envisaged by the Third EU Energy Package. The joint management of our European businesses aims to create value for both the market and our shareholders."
In mid-morning, the Snam share dropped 0,61% in Piazza Affari.
