The energy company closed its financial statements with a sharp decline in net profit but announced a four-year investment plan of 6,7 billion euros.

The company Snam Rete Gas closed 2011 with a consolidated net profit of 790 million euro (-28,6%) and adjusted consolidated net profit of 978 million (-11,6%). This was communicated by the same energy company in a note, where it also illustrated the investment plan for the period 2012-2015.

The consolidated investment plan envisages 6,7 billion euros of investments, of which 1,4 billion in 2012, and is aimed at developing the gas infrastructure system in Italy and at supporting and increasing the company's growth opportunities in the medium and long term. “In an evolving European context – explained the CEO of the group, Carlo Malacarne -, the 2012-2015 Strategic Plan creates the conditions for candidate Snam to become one of the main integrated infrastructure operators at European level”.

The Board of Directors, continues the note, also resolved to propose to the Shareholders' Meeting the approval of the financial statements and the allocation of the profit which provides for the distribution of a dividend of €0,24 per share, of which €0,10 per share already distributed in October 2011 as an interim dividend. The balance dividend of 0,14 euro per share will be paid starting from 24 May 2012, with the ex-dividend date set for 21 May 2012.
