Snam and Arma dei Carabinieri: new agreement on security

Snam andArms of the Carabinieri have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen company safety and the operational continuity of the energy networks throughout the country. Furthermore, the agreement provides for the joint organization of events aimed at sharing experiences and operational best practices.

In detail, the parties will start a collaboration for training activities for their respective personnel on safety and environmental protection issues, also through the support of the Carabinieri Command for the Environmental protection , Ecological Transition.

The agreement was signed by Marco Alverà, CEO of Snam, and by Teo Luzi, general commander of the Arma. The implementation of the initiatives that Snam and the Carabinieri will organize together will be governed by specific implementation agreements.

"The start of a collaboration between a fundamental institution such as the Arma dei Carabinieri and a company that builds and manages strategic infrastructures such as Snam has the aim of contributing to the safety of people and territories, pooling their mutual skills of security and disseminating good practices in terms of ethics and the fight against corruption”, he commented Marco Alvera, Chief Executive Officer of Snam.

“This agreement – ​​underlined the General Commander of the Carabinieri Gen. CA Teo Luzi – allows to promote, in a synergistic way, the experiences and professionalism of one's own excellences, increasing the training of personnel, within the ambit of reciprocal competences. The common goal remains that of developing, in Italy and abroad, initiatives aimed at improving the level of safety of people and territories, with constant attention to respect for nature and the environment”.

For Snam - reads a press release - it is essential to guarantee the protection of corporate assets and the safety and operational continuity of the energy networks, protecting the personnel responsible for their development and management. By virtue of this objective, the company is increasingly attentive to enhancing security, encouraging synergies with all internal processes to stimulate greater flexibility and responsiveness; actions necessary to prevent, counter and manage the impacts of unforeseen situations.
