Smart working: here are the best cities to work from home

smart working Yes but where? The pandemic has made working from home explode globally, without however erasing the differences between working conditions at various latitudes of the planet. Nestpick, an on-demand housing platform, has compiled a ranking of the 75 best cities to live and work remotely based on regulations, cost of living and overall livability.

In his head there is Melbourne, which scores highly on livability factors such as safety, health care, and cultural and recreational activities, and is powered by its remote work infrastructure and the presence of a specific visa for those who work in smart working, the “Digital Nomad”.

This type of visa is only available in 10 out of 75 cities: in addition to Melbourne, Zagreb, Prague, Lisbon, Reykjavik, Tallinn, Athens, Sydney, Melbourne, Dubai and Mexico City.

Two of these cities, Dubai e Sydney, are placed respectively in second and third place in the standings.

They close the top-5 Tallin e London, followed by two Asian megacities: Tokyo e Singapore. In eighth position Glasgow, which precedes Montreal e Berlin.

In short: there is not even one Italian city in the top 10, and the Bel Paese does not even appear in the sub-rankings drawn up on the basis of individual metrics.

For example, regarding the space to be used as a home office, Rio de Janeiro is the cheapest city (119 euros per month), followed by St. Petersburg (139 euros) e Istanbul (169)

Among the 75 cities considered by the study, Las Palmas is the one that offers the best overall weather conditions, while Tallinn it has the best combined score for noise, air and light pollution.

US cities lead the pack in Covid-19 vaccination rates: Boston has the highest percentage at 63,31%, ahead of Honolulu (58,94%) and the Seattle (54,89%).
