Slow Wine Fair: over 600 wineries from 12 countries at the Slow Wine Coalition meeting in Bologna

Sana Slow Wine Fair, the international event dedicated to good, clean and fair wine, organized by BolognaFiere, with the artistic direction of Slow Food, will be held in Bologna from 26 February to 1 March 2022: four days of debates, reflections, meetings with sector operators and masterclasses, over 600 producers who have already confirmed their presence in the exhibition pavilions, for a total of 12 countries represented.

Who and what will be in the four days in Bologna? Many ideas, knowledge, traditions, innovation and the stories of hundreds of producers. Of the wineries that have already confirmed, just a few days after the opening of registrations and in a moment of great uncertainty, the Italian ones have already exceeded 480, representing all the regions of our country, from north to south. The most represented? Piedmont and Tuscany, respectively with almost 100 and 90 companies, followed by Veneto (51), Emilia-Romagna (39), Lombardy (32) and Sicily (24). Twenty-four, however, those from Friuli Venezia Giulia, two more than Campania. About 130 foreign realities from Armenia, Austria, France, Germany, Holland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Slovenia, Spain, the United States and South Africa are already certain to participate, including five wineries that process distillates.

In short, important numbers, with the awareness that many more will be added to the companies already confirmed in the coming months: «The current numbers are an excellent ticket, a sign that the wine world has understood the importance of this initiative and has become aware of the role it can play on economic, environmental and landscape, social scenarios. For this reason we are confident that the presences in Bologna will be numerous and qualified, provided that the global scenarios linked to Covid do not change for the worse» admits the coordinator of the Slow Wine Coalition, Giancarlo Gariglio. Thanks also to the work of Società Excellence, which brings together 18 Italian realities active in the field of top quality wine distribution, which together with Slow Wine is taking care of selecting the most interesting and deserving wine realities on the international scene to bring them to Bologna in the days of the Slow Wine Fair.

«The interest we register around the event and the trend in participation – declares Antonio Bruzzone, General Manager of BolognaFiere – confirms the importance of the project and its strategic nature for producers who recognize themselves in a path declined towards sustainability».
