Sky Italia and Open Fiber announce an agreement for the launch of a fiber service starting from summer 2019 which aims to accelerate the long-term growth of fiber and Pay TV. This fiber service will complement the one by satellite.
Thanks to this agreement, Sky will benefit from the advantages offered by the Open Fiber optical fiber infrastructure - FTTH, Fiber-To-The Home - in the main 271 urban areas of the country.
"Since more and more content is available via the Internet, - underlines the Open Fiber note - Sky's offer via fiber will combine its exclusive programming with the best connection speed available on the Italian market".
Sky will distribute its TV offer via the internet thanks to a new version of Sky Q - the latest generation box that has set new standards for the television experience in Italy - which from 2019 will also be able to work via the internet as well as via satellite.
