SIT: order from the UK government, title goes up on the stock market

Important international promotion for SIT, the Italian company listed on the Stock Exchange and specialized in components and systems for the control, regulation and safety of domestic gas heating appliances and mass catering systems. Through the subsidiary Metersit, SIT was in fact selected – in the context of an international tender procedure – by the English Ministry for Economic Development (BEIS – Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy) for the development of a hydrogen meter in the of the national Hy4Heat project.

Hy4Heat is a British government program which aims to define the technical feasibility, safety conditions and convenience to replace methane gas with hydrogen in both commercial and residential applications: the project is part of the national heating decarbonisation plan, one of the UK's biggest challenges in climate control with the aim of reducing CO2 emissions into the atmosphere, of which the use of hydrogen is one of the strategic options.

Since Hy4Heat concerns the entire hydrogen use chain for heating purposes in both domestic and commercial environments, specifically SIT has been assigned an important role in the field of Smart Metering, where its technology can play a key role. The objective of the work package assigned to SIT is therefore to develop a prototype meter that guarantees the safety and accuracy of the measurement of the hydrogen flow. Delivery is expected within the first quarter of 2021.

Investors also liked the "hit" by SIT: the share, listed on Piazza Affari in the MTA segment, gained 3,5% by mid-day today, rising to € 7,5 per share.
