After 4 years of rebel control in some areas of the city, today the Syrian national army has regained control of Aleppo.

Aleppo has returned to the control of the Syrian government. It is the end of four years of control by the rebels over some areas of the city. This was stated by Syrian military sources, and the same sources added that the victory represents "a strategic transformation" in the war on terrorism.

"Thanks to the blood of our martyrs and the sacrifices of our valiant armed forces, the general command announces the return of security to Aleppo after its liberation from terrorists and the exit of those who remained there," the army statement reads loyal to President Bashar Al Assad. The statement came after the departure of the last convoy for the evacuation of civilians.
