Syria: 2 million without electricity and water in Aleppo

More than two million civilians have been left without electricity and without access to the water network in Aleppo, due to the bombings that have hit the distribution plants in recent days. A situation that will push the UN to ask for a 48-hour humanitarian truce to restore at least the supplies of food, water and medicines for civilians.

The clash in the Syrian city is going crazy, with numerous civilians killed in the bombings of both sides: "The United Nations - explain the representatives Yacoub el Hillo and Kevin Kennedy - are ready to assist the civilian population of Aleppo, a city now united in the suffering. Civilians, including the sick and wounded, must be reached by operations through the lines and across the border from Turkey as expeditiously as possible. They must be assisted without discrimination and wherever they are. All parties must ensure the safety, safety and dignity of all civilians."

The 48-hour ceasefire would be at the heart of the strategy discussed by Russian and American military experts, to allow the UN to help the civilian population.
