Sioi: the Master in Sustainable Development and Arctic Studies is back

One of the darkest moments of our days. The current health emergency has not only blocked all activities, the economy and our habits, but has also affected our mood in the most aggressive form. And it is precisely at this moment that we need to look to the future and "not stop", but focus on training.

The Italian Society for International Organization, in collaboration with Unitelma Sapienza, in agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and the CNR presents the V edition of the online format for the Master's Degree in Sustainable Development, Geopolitics of Resources and Arctic Studies.

The course will take place starting from 20 April to 30 October 2020, with a break in August, every Monday and Tuesday from 14.00 to 17.00. The Master is designed for all those who currently want to invest in training and in their future. Furthermore, the live web mode provides for the possibility of direct interaction between teachers and participants.

A series of educational activities are included: from individual study, to seminars and conferences, up to the elaboration of a project work at the end of the course. Also including a series of checks, aimed at evaluating the learning of the topics covered.

This is the first Italian Master, conceived by SIOI, which analyzes the importance of the Arctic region on the protection of the environment, in the fight against climate change, in international security as well as in the sustainable use of resources. It highlights how events affecting the Arctic impact our environment and our daily lives and how its protection and global warming need to be addressed and need global responses.

The training course is divided into five teaching modules: economic, legal, political, scientific, social and cultural. The aim is to train experts specialized in the responsible use of the territory, in the geopolitics of energy and in the green economy. Develop skills and competences that can somehow give support to national and international institutions, the public and business sector and in general to all the realities related to the energy sector and environmental management with particular specialization for fragile ecosystems, such as the Arctic one.

Despite the forced quarantine and the desire to get back to normal, we need to start planning our future, invest the time we generally don't have in something constructive and useful.
