For Italian sport it is a golden autumn. Yannik Sinner he led the Italian tennis team to conquer the Davis Cup: it hasn't happened for 47 years, since the times of Pietrangeli and Panatta. Pecco Bagnaia, despite a thrilling accident in Barcelona a few months ago, he won the MotoGP world title again in the footsteps of his friend Valentino Rossi and, finally, the national football team, that of Luciano Spalletti, he managed to qualify for the 2024 European championships, albeit at the last minute, after failing to qualify for the World Cup under the guidance of Roberto Mancini. Three successes that warm our hearts, that unite the country and that make us feel proud to be Italian. Especially when you hear a tennis champion like Sinner, n.4 in the world ranking at just 22 years old, declare with enthusiasm: "The Italians were very close" in the Davis final and "this is a special victory, a beautiful moment for all of Italy". Or Pecco Bagnaia stating with the wisdom of a veteran: “You try to learn from the most difficult periods: for me the fall of Barcelona was a lesson”. Words of wisdom and trust also came from Spalletti after Italy's qualification for the 2024 European Football Championship a few days ago: "The best is yet to come". Never a word too many from these sportsmen who honor the whole country. Well done, very good: champions of life and not just of sport.
