Singapore, Ferrari disaster: Hamilton wins

The two Ferraris of Vettel and Raikkonen were involved in an accident at the start and were immediately forced to retire: a great opportunity lost, also because an incredulous Hamilton won in the end.

Singapore, Ferrari disaster: Hamilton wins

The race, and at this point probably the drivers' championship, are decided even before the first corner of the Singapore GP: Vettel gets off to a good start, but Raikkonen boldly attacks Verstappen, second on the starting grid; the young Belgian thus finds himself locked in the grip of the two reds, perhaps he could leave them space but with little room for maneuver and in a few excited moments he tries to defend his position on Raikkonen on the outside, slightly closing his trajectory.

The collision also involves Vettel and the result is that the two Ferraris are forced to retire after a few seconds of the race, leaving the field free for Hamilton, who in a normal situation would have had little margin to win, given that he started from fifth position and the circuit Asian is known for not being particularly good at overtaking. Ricciardo and Bottas complete the podium.

Now the World Championship for Sebastian Vettel, who had achieved a beautiful pole in Singapore, is almost compromised: Hamilton brings home an unexpected 25 points and thus extends the overall standings, with 263 points while the German of the Prancing Horse remains stationary at 235. Six to go. grand prix in the end, virtually everything is possible but for Ferrari it is a great missed opportunity.
