Union against mafia: young Fim-Cisl in the confiscated fields

A school camp for young people of the Fim-Cisl on work and legality in the lands confiscated from the mafia is underway in Casal di Principe, in the province of Caserta - The young people are engaged not only in civic training activities but in grape harvesting and maintenance of the vineyards - The initiative will be closed on Wednesday 6 September by the general secretary of the Cisl metalworkers, Marco Bentivogli

The Fim Cisl National Youth Camp on legality and work opened on Sunday 3 September in Casal di Principe (Caserta). The camp, which takes place in the land of Don Peppe Diana - the priest killed twenty-three years ago by the Camorra because he was engaged in educating legality and fighting criminal power - will be attended by 30 union delegates under 35 from all regions Italian.

The initiative is part of the commitment that the Fim has been carrying out for years on the issues of legality, training and civic participation. The Camp will also be an opportunity to strengthen the relationship with the associative network involved in the civil economy and in particular in the countryside of Aversa with the NCO Consortium (New Organized Cooperation) which deals with personal services and the use of confiscated assets to the Camorra for productive and social use.

With this in mind, the young Fim delegates will be involved in the harvest and in the maintenance of the vineyards in support of an economic activity aimed at returning to the local community the assets confiscated from the Camorra and at creating jobs in compliance with the rights of producers, consumers and of the environment.

The initiative will close on 6 September in Carinola (Caserta) at Cleprin, a leading company in the production of detergents for professional use, on the front line against racketeering and destroyed by arson in 2015, with the intervention of the Secretary General of Fim Cisl Marco Bentivogli.
