Simest, a new strategic plan for export and business competitiveness

The was presented Strategic Plan 2023-25 “Corporate impact. Yes, a pact for growth” di Simest, the CDP group company that supports the growth and competitiveness of Italian companies around the world. The piano envisages a total commitment of resources for 18,5 billion, an increase of 20% compared to the previous three-year period. In 2025, the resources committed will be 6,8 billion, compared to the current 1,7 billion.

The plan strengthens the role of Simest a internationalization support through four pillars: sustainable and quality growth, digitization and operational efficiency, valorisation of people and corporate culture, impact on the territory and ESG. A qualitative growth of equity loans is expected, with a focus on investments with an impact on the territory as well as simplifications in the relationship with partners in order to reduce the time needed to finalize transactions.

What does Simest's strategy include? 

  • Resources committed for 18,5 billion through the relaunch of equity investments supported by an innovative offer of subsidy measures managed in agreement with the MAECI
  • Systemic cooperation for a more widespread dissemination of the financial instruments managed by Simest enabled by a commercial plan shared with CDP, collaboration with institutional players and a more structured action towards companies jointly with the banking system
  • Support to companies by enabling an acceleration of internationalization processes also with a new consultancy service on the main strategic markets
  • Technological transformation plan to offer companies a better experience thanks to the simplification and speeding up of processes
  • Promotion of a new inclusive and sustainable corporate culture, attentive to diversity with a renewed commitment to excellence in skills
  • Strong commitment in the ESG field consisting of a significant economic, social and environmental impact of both SIMEST and its Partners

Simest will strengthen thebusiness through cooperation with the Cdp group and the strengthening of the network in the area with the confirmation of the proximity to the companies of the South. Furthermore, the strengthening of the collaboration with the banking system is envisaged in order to further expand the information and training of the Simest measures to companies with a vocation for internationalisation.

With regard to the digitization, over the three-year period Simest will implement a profound digital transformation process aimed at strengthening and maximizing the speed of customer service, aiming at a better business experience thanks to the simplification of processes, all of this supported by important investments over the period of the plan, tripled compared to previous three years.

as to development e corporate culture, a cultural regeneration program was launched to develop a co-constructed, transversal and distinctive culture, valuing inclusion and diversity (with the aim of at least 40% women in managerial positions), as well as work-life balance.

Finally, the plan aims to sign an agreement with Italian companies also to promote investments in social, economic and environmental sustainability.
