“We increase discount from 25% to 50% for a month, for all Sicilians who travel from airports to all of Italy during the Christmas period. Regardless of the income situation, it will concern all Sicilians, even non-residents, so that they will have to suffer less. We are proud of it. We will continue our battle but aware that it is a market issue". This is the announcement of the president of the Sicilian Region, Renato Schifani who, during a press conference, illustrated to journalists the'initiative against expensive flights.
Sicily: How the 50% discount on flights works
The 50% discount on flights to and from Sicily will be valid from the 7 December 2024 to the 6 January 2025 and will apply on a direct flight from a national airport to a Sicilian airport and vice versa.
The concession is valid for both residents in Sicily that for the born in Sicily who live elsewhere and wish to reach the Island for the Christmas holidays.
