The opening, after the bulletin in recent days seemed to lean more towards a "no" (after the already official stop of the French championship and awaiting the decisions of the other European championships), came from Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte himself, who in a he interview given to Fatto Quotidiano revealed a certain optimism: "We will convene the world of sport for a summit on recovery," said the prime minister. “Together with Minister Spadafora, who has done an excellent job, we will take stock: we will collect the requests of the Football Federation and the other federations to have a shared picture of the resumption of sports activities ". In recent days, the same minister Vincenzo Spadafora, considered by some to be against the restart, had said: “Serie A restarts only in safety. If the conditions are right, I'll be happy to kick off."
In short, there is still a lot of uncertainty but the novelty is that after a certain pessimism also due to the difficulty of resuming training (the Regions are granting the first authorizations to the clubs one after the other) and to reorganize the calendar (12 games left only for championship, plus cups), the word "recovery" is also starting to be pronounced by the Government.
But how do other European countries regulate themselves? France seemed to have directed the choices of the other countries by declaring the definitive stop to Ligue 1, but in reality it will not be like this. Waiting to understand what the English Premier and the Spanish Liga will do, still uncertain, Germany is on the other hand very fast: despite the fact that the doctors are continuing to warn of the great risks for the players themselves ("An infected player risks ending his career" , said sports doctor Wilhelm Bloch of the Cologne Sports University), the shooting was set for May 15th. Training has officially resumed for some time and despite some cases of positivity, Germany does not intend to give up the sports business and the regular completion of tournaments.
In Italy there is still a lot of division: as is physiological, the teams that have the most interest in taking the field are pushing to finish the championship in some way, even in the middle of summer. Others are neutral, while very few – as world champion Marco Tardelli rightly pointed out – are wondering what footballers really want and if they really feel like playing, risking contagion. Resuming will still be complicated, given that UEFA would like to complete the cups by August and therefore the calendars could become clogged. But as it turns out, that's not so unlikely anymore.
