Serie A, first balance sheet: Sarri and Conte ok, Ancelotti is not convincing

Summing up after 7 days of the championship, the sound rejection of Milan and the promotion for Inter and Juventus undoubtedly emerge - Napoli convinces in half: well in the Champions League, flop in Serie A.

Serie A, first balance sheet: Sarri and Conte ok, Ancelotti is not convincing

Stopping time, time to take stock. They've passed just 7 days from the start of the championshipyet they seem to be many more. After all, in this football everyone wants a good game but then, in the end, it is the results that decide, which is why time becomes a damned relative concept. The October break therefore leads us to give the first verdicts, in some cases even definitive. Let's start from Milan and its now former coach Giampaolo, fired after just 111 days of work (absolute record for the club). The "wooden spoon" par excellence therefore goes to the Rossoneri, without exception: in fact, you choose who, among Gazidis, Maldini, Boban and Giampaolo himself, deserves it more.

Now the hot potato passes into the hands of Pioli, called to revive a team lost and full of pressure, with the aggravating circumstance of a terrible calendar (Lecce and Spal at home, okay, but also Rome, Lazio and Juventus). Milan rejected In short, no ifs and buts. Ancelotti's Napoli is a little better (not that it takes much…), but just a little. This first glimpse of the season is gone definitely below expectations, with the Azzurri in fourth place, 6 points behind leaders Juve and also behind Inter and Atalanta. Not the best for those who, in the summer, had shown themselves very happy with the transfer market, so much so as to go overboard and speak openly of the Scudetto goal.

De Laurentiis is silent for now, but the square is not, with the result that Carletto, after years of revelry, is unusually in the dock. Let us now pass, in this unusual ranking from bottom to top, to the two Romans, paired in the limbo of purgatory. In fact, for both it would be unfair to speak of rejection, but also of promotion. Rome and Lazio have left to go to the Champions League and the fact that, currently, they are out of it certainly cannot satisfy them, especially since Gasperini's Atalanta is in their place, she admitted with full marks. The nerazzurri are confirmed as one of the happiest notes of the season, at least in the league: the Champions League isn't going as well but this is obviously another story.

We thus arrive at Inter and Juve, so far promoted without reservations. Conte's team has found a very specific identity, the result of painstaking work from all points of view, from the fields of Appiano to the offices in Viale della Liberazione. Of course, the defeats against Barcelona and Juventus confirm that the road to victory is still long, perhaps too long to be completed already this year, but in the meantime, however, the Nerazzurri are back to thinking big and this, considering the recent past, is decidedly news. positive. The only way to scale the gap is to continue to go fast, hoping that your competitor takes a false step, a scenario which, however, at least at the moment, is not happening. Sarri's Juve, after some initial difficulties, has found the right rhythm, indeed it can be said that it is finally flying.

The victory at San Siro, in addition to 3 very heavy points, brought a dose of enthusiasm that has been missing for some time and which could really give the final boost. So far Maurizio, received with distrust by most of the environment, has done almost nothing wrong, managing to combine his own football with the characteristics of the players. Now all that remains is to continue on this road, with the awareness that it is the right one to aim for the much coveted Champions League. Because the October budgets are fine but the ones that matter, as we know, come much further.
