Serie A: Dazn rejects Sky's offer for matches

A dry No the one trimmed by Dazn to Sky. The satellite TV giant had offered Dazn half a billion euros per season (1,5 billion in total) to be able to broadcast all Serie A matches for the next 3 years, including a Dazn satellite channel (similar to the current Dazn1) in its bouquet and making the Dazn App available on Sky Q. In this way, to the 3 matches to which Sky owns the rights, it would have added 7 more, covering all the matches. The proposal expired on the start date of the European Championships, Friday 11 June. According to reports from Bloomberg though the German company has already rejected the offer.

Last March Dazn won the rights to all 10 matches of each championship day, putting 840 million euros on the plate per season, thanks also to the partnership with Tim, who in addition to technological support (Dazn is a 100% streaming platform ) contributes financially to the offer with a share of 340 million.

Dazn's proposal is divided into 740 million a year for the 7 games per day on each platform and 100 million for the remaining 3 only on the streaming platform. Sky's offer was lower: 90 million less made Rupert Murdoch's satellite TV lose the rights to Serie A after 18 years of almost monopoly. Sky will have to settle for just 3 matches for each day. Unless new twists come.
