Senate, Napolitano: “Don't undo the reform. Equal bicameralism has generated monsters”

Authoritative speech by the president emeritus of the Republic, Giorgio Napolitano, who, speaking to the Constitutional Affairs Commission of Palazzo Madama, warmly invited the parliamentarians not to "undo the canvas" of the reform and to complete the process without upheavals, recalling that "equal bicameralism has spawned monsters”

Senate, Napolitano: “Don't undo the reform. Equal bicameralism has generated monsters”

"Let's remember that equal bicameralism has generated monsters" and for this very reason it is time to overcome it by rapidly approving the reform of the Senate. This is what was claimed by the president emeritus of the Republic, Giorgio Napolitano, who wanted to speak at the Constitutional Affairs Commission of Palazzo Madama where the discussion on the reform of the Senate has resumed.

Napolitano invited the parliamentarians not to "unravel the fabric of the reform", arguing that changes are possible but without distorting the reform which is now in third reading in the Senate.

An appeal, that of the former Head of State, addressed to the opposition but above all to the dem minority led by the Bersanian Gotor.
