ICE seminar: Xinjiang, opportunities for Italian companies

A seminar on the opportunities for economic-industrial collaboration for Italian companies in the autonomous region of Xinjiang in China was held today at the Milan office of the ICE Agency.

Xinjiang offers concrete opportunities for Italian companies especially after the approval by the Chinese authorities of the new incentive programs for industrial localization in the western part of the country. The region is also strategic due to its geographical position, on the border with other important markets such as Kazakhstan and Mongolia. The sectors that offer the greatest opportunities are: infrastructure, renewable energy, oil & gas, agriculture, livestock, stone and building materials and textiles.

The work program included, after a first part dedicated to institutional interventions, with the participation of the Chinese Consul General in Milan, a technical session in which the Director General of the Department of Commerce of the Autonomous Region of Xinjiang and the Director of the ICE Office in Beijing.

This meeting is part of a larger project dedicated to the regions in Western China which will also include the creation of a mission of operators for the third edition of the Cae Expo Xinjiang which will be held in Urmuqi, the capital of the Region from 1 to 5 September 2013 .
