After Switzerland and Liechtenstein, the next country to sign an agreement with Italy for the exchange of tax information will be the Principality of Monaco.
The negotiations between the two administrations would now be at a very advanced stage and for Rome the agreement would represent another important step forward in the fight against tax evasion and capital flight, as well as a further incentive for those who illegally hold money abroad to join the voluntary disclosure.
Meanwhile, the definitive signing of the bilateral pact between Rome and Bern on double taxation is expected on 23 February.
