Second homes, government turnaround

A note from Palazzo Chigi denies the rumors circulated in the morning about the possible reintroduction of the so-called "land income tax" on vacant second homes - "These rumors evidently refer to drafts circulated in recent days and which will not be part of the provision that will be in the Official Gazette ”.

Second homes, government turnaround

Apparently there will be no sting on second homes. The government released a note in the early afternoon to contradict the news circulated in the morning about the reintroduction of the so-called "property income tax" on vacant second homes, a rule that had been canceled by the Monti government with the introduction of the IMU.

“Palazzo Chigi denies the rumors on new hypotheses of taxation on second homes, to cover the provision on the IMU, reported in some newspapers this morning – reads the text -. These indiscretions evidently refer to drafts circulated in recent days and which will not be part of the provision that will be in the Official Journal".

The Executive therefore suggests that the technicians are still at work to file the details of the provision, from which the measures reported today in the newspapers will evidently be excluded.
