Three-year agreement signed to develop digital education actions aimed at teachers
and students. The initiative is open to the contribution of other companies active in the sector
of technological innovation for digital teaching.

School, MIUR and Tim together for digital education

The Minister of Education, University and Research, Lorenzo Fioramonti, and the Chief Executive Officer of TIM, Luigi Gubitosi, have signed a three-year memorandum of understanding with the MIUR aimed at accelerate the digital transformation process of Italian schools of all levels, aiming to raise the quality of the educational offer of schools, through didactic innovation and the integration of new technologies in learning processes. The initiative will also be open to the contribution of other companies active in the research and development of new technologies for digital teaching.

The agreement will make it possible to carry out actions to bring them into schools and learning environments access to the internet, identifying pilot cases throughout Italy also in disadvantaged areas or characterized by high school dropouts. Training initiatives for teaching staff and students will also be activated to encourage the development of digital skills and promote scientific culture in schools, to inspire young people in choosing training and professional paths in the field of STEM disciplines.

They will develop like this basic "digital education" actions with an indication of the tools suitable for facilitating the discovery of advanced approaches to digital, through the use of innovative technologies such as the cloud and augmented reality at the service of education. The projects carried out will enrich the curriculum through training courses and digital skills orientation, in line with new technological trends and job market demands. Students will be offered free training programs and services, with the aim of spreading the skills necessary for the digital transformation of businesses and the consequent challenges that the world of work will be called upon to face.
