School: paper books or e-books?

In small steps, the technology of e-book is also advancing in Italian schools and universities, and especially in business schools, such as Sda Bocconi which, as the manager Bruno Busacca explains, has activated "a permanent observatory to understand what type of formats are used by the various companies for internal training and what is the effect of 'introduction of digital media'.

La Luiss Guido Carli of Rome, on the other hand, has its own iTunes channel from which it is possible to download 53.155 e-journals and 37.51 e-books, referring to various University courses. The Liuc of Castellanza is also present on a digital platform, although a survey on a sample of 48 Italian universities showed that only 22% of the universities have activated electronic services. Among these, the Politecnico di Milano stands out, whose degree course in computer science is fully available online.

Still reduced numbers, therefore, but the testimony of a phenomenon that is seriously starting to take hold here too. to push it, the extreme convenience of the e-book and the possibility of enclosing an enormous amount of books on a single support. For the moment, the price of digital books, which is still too high, is holding it back.
