School, 22 hires and independent evaluation are on the way

School is on stage in the Today's Cabinet meeting is it will ratify over twenty-two thousand personnel recruitments between teachers and managers and above all it will discuss the evaluation regulation scheme already presented on 10 August last. This is the most delicate point because it is destined to ignite spirits as happens every time we talk about evaluation in schools. The controversies have already flared up from a part of the unions. The FLC CGIL spoke of a nasty surprise for August XNUMXth but the compactness of the union front was broken by the CISL school which welcomed the measure.

The central nodes of the DPR scheme being discussed today are: a three "legs" system made up of Invalsi, Indire and the Inspection Body, the aim of improving the functioning of schools and the realignment with Europe in the field of external evaluation. In Italy there is still no external evaluation system and schools do not receive systematic visits from external and independent subjects. Schools are not subject to evaluation, with the exception of the Invalsi tests concerning pupils' learning. This indicator is certainly very important for the functioning of a school but not the only one because elements such as the professional development of personnel or decision-making and participation systems are no less strategic.

Not simply report cards for schools but useful tools to improve them and with them the quality of education. Merit and competitiveness will thus be able to rightfully enter the Italian school.
