School: Primary and childhood teachers protest in Rome

From 9.30 on Wednesday 7 August, a demonstration by kindergarten and primary school teachers who define themselves as "Caged" will be held in Rome, in Piazza Montecitorio. These are "tenured teachers whose career progression has often been prevented by limitations in reforms, competition rules and access to special qualifying pathways", reads the note from the "Caged Teachers Coordination". Some precarious teachers will also take part in the mobilization.

Specifically, the "Caged" primary and kindergarten students protest because they believe that the Government's intention to exclude them "from the PAS, the special enabling path, which will land on the parliamentary discussion table next week" is now evident.

A choice that "would prove to be evidence - continues the note - that the service provided in primary or kindergarten" is considered of lesser value "compared to that provided in secondary school, so much so that it cannot allow, despite the age-old work experience that many can boast of, that career progress that is rightfully ours and that only a qualification could allow”.
