Head-on collision in the Democratic Party on case of the "unpresentables": the controversy is above all triggered by the choice of the Anti-Mafia Commission (which technically would not have the task, many say), led by Rosy Bindi, to publish the list of candidates for the regional not in compliance with the code of ethics, and to also include the candidate for president of the Democratic Party, Vincenzo De Luca.
Among the first to speak is the president of the Democratic Party, Matteo Orfini. Interviewed by "A sheep's day", Orfini said that "De Luca, according to the law, is presentable, so much so that we have nominated him. And the people from Campania voted in favor of him through the primaries. The sentences are given by the magistrates”. Then he adds a poisonous comment against Rosy Bindi: “As you know, I've never had a good relationship with De Luca. Nonetheless, what is happening in these hours is truly incredible, because the initiative of the president of the Anti-Mafia commission takes us back centuries, when trials were held in the squares inciting the crowds".
Even tougher is the reaction of Ernesto Carbone, who directly accuses Rosy Bindi of violating the Constitution and of being moved by the desire for political revenge against the party leaders. The interested party ironically glosses over: "I don't stoop to replying to Carbone, allow me not to stoop to this". But no less tender is the comment of Luigi Zanda, group leader of the party in the Senate: “It is necessary and right to denounce unpresentable candidates in the regional elections, but whether the Antimafia does so is questionable and even more so than those who have proceedings in progress and not for the mafia enter the list. And it is pure political barbarism that this happens with this timing ”.
For Senator Francesca Puglisi of the Pd national secretariat, “it is the use of the Antimafia commission as an instrument of political struggle is indecent. I thought that President Bindi was a woman at the service of the institutions, unfortunately this time she used the institutions to promote herself and for futile reasons of personal spite ”. Even another iron Renziano like Senator Andrea Marcucci goes down hard with the president of the Anti-Mafia Commission, speaking of an "embarrassing and useless show".
“The Democratic Party will remain united and will not be harmed by personal grievances,” he clarifies David Ermini, responsible for Justice of the national Pd secretariat, explaining that “Bindi has achieved her goal: a job done badly and poorly managed that enters the electoral competition with united feet. The preemptive justifications speak for themselves. We would never have expected something like this from the president of the Anti-Mafia Commission, especially on the last day when no one can defend themselves anymore.
