Electric scooters, thanks also to the bonus recently launched by the Government, are more and more the means of transport of the moment. Fast, silent, ecological, not yet completely safe but certainly the vehicle that symbolizes so-called soft mobility. Precisely for this reason Bird, the company that rents over 5.000 scooters in Turin, Rome, Milan, Verona, Rimini and Pesaro, has strengthened its partnership with Enel X, which makes its JuicePass app available

“The partnership with Bird – commented Alberto Piglia, head of e-Mobility at Enel X – allows us to offer JuicePass users a unique travel experience in urban areas and a valid alternative to traditional means of transport thanks to which it is also possible to lighten the traffic flows of our cities. By contributing to the diffusion of micro-mobility, we are adding a further element to Enel X's strategy which aims at the continuous diffusion of sustainable mobility at a global level".

“Our goal – added Cristina Donofrio General Manager of Bird Italia – is to provide a last mile solution which, combined with electric vehicles and public transport, makes the most livable and safest cities for everyone. The collaboration with Enel X will help people move more easily on Bird's scooters”.

But how exactly does the collaboration work? Once Enel X JuicePass users have identified the closest scooter on the map, they will come redirected directly to the Bird app to book and use the means. Those who drive an electric vehicle will now be able to park it and fill up on energy at the charging points accessible through JuicePass, continuing their journeys on a Bird scooter, relieving city traffic congestion and protecting the environment.

Once the journey is complete, the scooter must be parked in a safe place that does not obstruct the traffic of pedestrians and vehicles; for use there is an initial cost to unlock the vehicle and a rate per minute. The solution studied by Enel X and Bird is a further step in the collaboration between the two companies announced last year at the Formula E E-Prix in Rome.
