Strike, Black Friday of transport

Severe inconvenience in large Italian cities, particularly in Rome, where according to the national trade union 70% of the Atac bus lines have joined - In Milan, ATM workers are barred while in Turin the strike has been postponed to May 24 to protect the Book Fair.

Strike, Black Friday of transport

Chaos in many Italian cities due to the national strike - 24 hours - of local public transport proclaimed by USB Private work "against the Jobs act and the serious penalties of a national contract that has been inactive for eight years". The USB speaks of "strong adherence" to the stop by the autoferrotranvieri already in the morning slot, "despite the heavy interventions to contrast" the strike, referring to the injunction of ATM drivers in Milan decided by the prefect to avoid negative repercussions on the Expo and the postponement requested (and obtained, on May 24) by the guarantee commission in Turin where the Book Fair is underway, considered an event of national importance

Black Friday has therefore hit Rome in particular: in the capital in particular, two of the three underground lines have been closed (stops for lines A and B) and bus trips have been suspended or in any case reduced: the Usb reports a participation "of over 70% in the bus lines of the Atac company, about 90% in the companies of the Roma Tpl consortium". Inconvenience also in Venice in the navigation sector, while in Milan, with the same ratio that led to the postponement of Turin for the Book Fair, the Prefect has precepted the workers of the ATM (Milan transport company) to avoid inconvenience to mobility for citizens and – as underlined in the same provision – to protect Expo visitors.

A decision that caused discussion, so much so that the grassroots union rejected it, judging it "unacceptable, because it denies a constitutional right". Here are the stop times, from city to city:
Roma: from 5 to 8.30 and from 17 to 20; GENOA: from 6 to 9 and from 17.30 to 20.30; BOLOGNA: from the start of service at 8.30 and from 16.30 to 19.30; FLORENCE: from 6.00 to 9.00 and from 12.00 to 15.00; NAPLES: from 5 to 8 and from 14.30 to 17.30 (circumvesuviana from 6.20 to 8.15 and from 13.30 to 17.35); BARI: from the start of service at 8.30 and from 12.30 to 15.30; PALERMO: from 6.30 to 9.30 and from 12.30 to 15.30; CAGLIARI: from 5.30 to 8.30, from 12.30 to 15.30.
