Alitalia strike 22 September, flights at risk: useful information

Despite numerous attempts at mediation and the agreement reached with Filt-Cgil, Fit-Cisl, Uil Trasporti and Ugl, the 24-hour strike by the flight crew of Alitalia and Meridiana is underway.

Thursday 22 September, pilots, hostesses and stewards belonging to the trade unions Anpac, Anpav and Usb cross arms for 24 hours. Guaranteed during the strike the protection time slots, from 7 to 10 and from 18 to 21, in which the flights are made. Despite this, over 150 flights at Fiumicino alone were allegedly canceled by Alitalia throughout the day.

To try to limit the inconvenience as much as possible, Alitalia has prepared an extraordinary plan, which in any case will not be able to completely stem the expected chaos. Heralding numerous cancellations and delays.

In order to "limit the damage", the airline invites customers to check their flight before going to the airport by calling the call center on 800 650 055 from Italy and +39 06 65649 from abroad. The contingent of operators at the call center has been strengthened.

Alitalia has already canceled many scheduled flights, moving passengers at risk of being grounded to other aircraft.

As a supplementary measure, the company has planned a reinforcement of personnel to assist customers at the airports of Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate.
