The applied model is based on the experience of the one tested by the Science Gallery at Trinity College Dublin, but will be adapted to a completely different context: the city of Venice, home to a dynamic creative community.

Un fundraiser for Science Gallery Venice. The first space of its kind in Italy, which will see an innovative and constantly evolving program of exhibitions and events to involve young people between 15 and 25 years old.

The Gallery, which is entering its development phase, is recruiting a motivated individual to raise funds and nurture new and existing relationships with supporters with the goal of achieving long-term financial sustainability. We expect an annual campaign for around 2 million euros. The successful candidate will be passionate about Science Gallery's mission and vision and have an understanding of our core values ​​and business programme. Science Gallery has a unique opportunity to play a key role in transforming the entire city into a space for creative engagement with science and culture. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to take ownership of initiatives and to see them through to a successful conclusion. Proven background in fundraising and/or business development, excellent proposal writing skills and experience building strong and fruitful relationships, will be required. High levels of energy and dynamism, coupled with excellent communication and influencing skills will be key. This role is funded by the Ca' Foscari Foundation.

The Fundaiser's duties will include

• Work in collaboration with the Development Office of the Ca' Foscari Foundation, identifying fundraising opportunities within the priorities that are most attractive to potential donors

• Create a specific SGV Corporate and Foundation Partners program, to recognize the institutions that continually make the University's innovative work possible.

• Identify and follow up on potential prospects both domestically and internationally, arranging prospecting meetings and events and following up on those meetings/events

• Managing relationships with partners (through organizing partner events, supporters lunches, regular briefings etc.) and ensuring they continue to engage

• Develop and maintain an SGV donor database in coordination with university CRM

• Coordinate with Development Office establishing procedures for gift processing (online, mail, check, credit card, securities) and ensuring timely and accurate Recognition of donations

• Work with Science Gallery's programming and operations team to drive inkind donations and program support

• Collaborate with Ca' Foscari Foundation ensuring fundraising synergies between La Galleria della Scienza and Ca' Foscari Foundation are maximized and guaranteed the graphic prospectuses are coordinated. The Science Gallery will be staffed by a small but very dynamic team and during exhibitions and events all staff members should actively participate in the delivery to ensure the best possible visitor experience.
