School: learning to save the planet. E.ON tries to explain it to young people

Thirty thousand and who knows how many more. The 2023/24 school year has just begun and Italian schools have the opportunity to participate in the project of the energy company E.ON designed especially for them. The previous editions have totalised, in fact, 30 thousand participants.

Using a Game box, students can discover the importance of taking action for a greener future. The starting point for growing in environmental sustainability is the diffusion of a culture based on good practice and conscious consumption.

The energy company has faced the educational problem of having a medium-term return among young people. They are recipients of dozens of educational programs but must feel like an active part.

The course until April 2024 will involve girls and boys in different experiences to learn while having fun. It is hoped that interactions with "green" games will have effects in the areas where the schools are located. In this sense there are no immune borders or territories.

Satisfied teachers, students to be examined

In previous editions the 70% of teachers declared that after the course he found good effects on the training activities and behavior of the children. The entire course takes place through the SOFIA portal of the Ministry of Education, the partnership with Meteo Expert and Pleiadi also guarantees training credits

"The initiative aims at an increasingly widespread diffusion across the territory - he said Mauro Biraghi, manager of E.ON Energia - because everyone must have the opportunity to improve their territory and be a virtuous example for future generations". In addition to the positive opinions of the large percentage of teachers, it will be important to verify how the interest of young people will be expressed in their relationship with adults. They are usually the slowest to assimilate certain news. Children know how to convey emotions and interests. Perhaps this is why E.ON started - rightly - with the "less adults".
