Schaeuble and Lagarde freeze Tsipras: "Still a lot of work to do"

Greece is more than optimistic about the possibility of soon signing the agreement to unblock the new ones 7,2 billion in aid, but the EU, Germany and the International Monetary Fund immediately dampen Athens' enthusiasm.

Let's start from the Greek front. According to the Dow Jones agency, the Greek premier Alexis Tsipras he stated that an agreement is close, also guaranteeing that pensions will be paid regularly and that bank deposits are not at risk. France Presse instead writes that the representatives of Greece have reached an agreement on a technical level with those of the European Union and the International Monetary Fund and are starting to write it.

The first to curb optimism was Valdis Dombrovskis, vice-president of the European Commission: "We are working very hard to secure a technical agreement - he said -, but we are not there yet".

Martin Jaeger, spokesman for the German finance minister, gave him an ego Wolfgang Schaeuble: "Unfortunately, it must be noted that so far there are no proposals and an overall solution" from the Greek government. In addition, four senior European officials involved in the negotiations interviewed by the Reuters agency have defined probable failure to respect the date of May 31, the deadline of the ultimatum given to Tsipras by Hollande and Merkel.

The latest denial of the Greek Premier's words came from Christine Lagarde: “We are working on a solution for Greece – said the number one of the IMF in an interview with German television ARD – and I wouldn't really say that we have achieved substantial results. Things are moving, but there's still a lot of work to do."
