The investigations are enriched by another strand on the MPS scandal, with the opening of a new investigation by the Rome prosecutor's office, which follows the one already underway in Siena, in addition to the investigation by the Lazio TAR on the supervision of Bank of Italy.

The Capitoline magistrates later announced the start of the investigation to the complaints of Codacons and individual citizens in relation to the MPS case. The accusations, for the moment against unknown persons, are market manipulation, plus other hypothetical crimes. However, the possibility of transferring the documents to the Siena prosecutor's office remains open, which this morning heard the banker Ettore Gotti Tedeschias a witness.

The former president of the IOR e Italian head of Banco Santander, was questioned for four hours on the negotiation which in 2007 led to the purchase of Antonveneta by Mps, for a figure of around 10 billion, against the 6 billion paid only a few months earlier by Santander. Gotti Tedeschi, who arrived during the morning, left the prosecutor's office after 4 hours, without making any statements.
