Omthera Pharmaceuticals Inc., an emerging American pharmaceutical company, is experiencing a sharp increase in the value of its shares. At approximately 16:40, in fact, the listed stock settled at around 13,3 dollars with an increase of 96,95% compared to the opening value equal to 6,77 dollars.
The pharmaceutical group has just been acquired by AstraZeneca for 323 million dollars. The agreement also provides for a further payment of 120 million dollars in case of success of the new drug Epanova recently introduced on the market.
