The eternal return of the health ticket. The new tax of 10 euros on specialist services and 25 euros on white codes in the emergency room starts today. At the moment there are six Regions that have said they want to adapt to the new legislation: Lazio, Liguria, Lombardy, Calabria, Sicily, Basilicata. The list of opponents includes Umbria, Tuscany, Emilia Romagna, Sardinia, Val d'Aosta and Trentino Alto Adige.
The situation is still being assessed in Piedmont, Campania, Marche and Friuli Venezia Giulia. The latest Region to have taken a step back is Veneto, which has chosen not to charge any tickets. “We are among the few, perhaps the only ones – said the governor Luca Zaia – who have decided to face this new bloodletting despite not having supertickets and additional income tax. We wanted to do it – continued Zaia – despite lower revenues compared to other Regions, think of Lombardy or Emilia Romagna. Even without the tickets, we will guarantee the high quality standards of our treatments, as always".
