San Marino prepares its green Festival

San Marino prepares its green Festival

Among the events more highlights of 2021 the demonstration will still focus on sustainability overall.

There are projects and ideas on environmental sustainability which, when they appear, make us understand how far we need to go to change the course of things. Roads full of obstacles, bureaucracy, lack of communication between powers. In the panorama of Italian green events, some are remembered precisely for their resistance to all kinds of difficulties.

The San Marino Green Festival, promoted by the Fuorigioco Network Association, is one of these. Continue to believe in that ecological pedagogy that has made the fortune of large ecological organizations. You have a glocal perspective as you work locally but deal with the whole world. With his dramas and her injustices. It was born in 2019 with a group of professionals with the aim of organizing exhibitions, workshops, meetings as a response to the need to change course of development. The main animator Gabriele Geminiani defines himself as the initiator of the Festival, where together with his companions he concentrates his efforts to build "a collective history, a journey through the seasons, a homeland for many territories".

For a few days there have been advances on the 2021 edition of the Borgo Maggiore Festival on 23 and 24 October. The theme of sustainability remains current not only for the Piccola Repubblica, evidently, but for the whole of Montefeltro on whose area the organization projects its energies. "Seeing the grass from the roots" is the title chosen for this year. A philosophical title, they explain, which contains several concepts that we intend to develop, linked to the territory and the relationship with nature. An event within a limited area but which wants to "look at what surrounds us from more inclusive points of view, from less traveled perspectives that lead us to know and feel part of those natural contexts and mechanisms of which we are a part". The plant neurobiologist Stefano Mancuso will be an exceptional guest. We will talk about agriculture, organic products, sustainable tourism. Not only of a virtuous San Marino and Montefeltro to completely emerge from the sad months of the pandemic. But to refine ideas in a shared way.

It is clear that the organizational efforts are waiting to be compensated by an extensive network of supporters, institutions and solidarity circles. The first signals should arrive in April on the occasion of the event "The future of water" dedicated to water consumption in agriculture and in June with the « San Marino Green Award » which will reward the most ecological entrepreneurial realities of the San Marino landscape. To start looking towards October in a country where green is often an overused word.
