Waiting for a new smartphone that will compete with the iPhone 5 (not that the Galaxy S3 isn't already highly competitive), Samsung does not sit idly by and launches a hybrid product, which is called "S3 Mini" and will be smaller than the top smartphone currently on the market, going – coincidentally – to equal the measurements of the latest iPhone.
The screen of the Mini S3 in fact goes from the 4,8 inches of the standard version to the 4 inches of the iPhone 5: while Apple is therefore expanding (the 4S had a 3,7-inch display) its Korean rivals are reducing, hunting for a wider audience, especially women, who could find a bulkier object like the Galaxy uncomfortable to carry in their pockets S3.
The new jewel arriving from the East therefore mounts a super Amoled display, the basic hardware is not the same as the S3. The mini model uses a 1 GHz dual core processor (which is enough) instead of the 1.4 GHz quad core Exynos mounted on the flagship. The operating system is the new Jelly Bean, which is version 4.1 of Android, characterized by more attractive graphics and better performance than the Ice Cream Sandwich edition.
Last but not least, the price: the new Samsung product will cost 450 euros and will be available from November in two different colors white (marble white) and dark blue (pebble blue).
