Sampdoria-Inter postponed due to bad weather

Snow and rain in Genoa: Sampdoria-Inter has been postponed due to bad weather. This was decided by the municipal operating committee of the Ligurian city after the alert 1 issued yesterday by the regional civil protection.

The Serie A championship match was scheduled tonight at the Ferraris stadium in Genoa, which stands in an area at high risk of flooding, not far from via Fereggiano, where the tragic flooding of the torrent of the same name occurred two years ago, causing six dead.

The Arpal bulletin released by the Civil Protection predicts heavy rainfall starting in the late afternoon. If the match had been played at 15pm, as originally planned, it would have taken place regularly. At the request of Inter, however – which on Thursday was involved in 180 fiery minutes against Tottenham – the time had been moved from the early afternoon to the evening.

At this point, the recovery of Sampdoria-Inter will probably be played on 2 or 3 April.
